Fulbright Scholarship: an Opportunity for Pakistani Students

fulbright scholarshipAbout USEFP

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) is a binational organization established in mutual partnership between the governments of Pakistan and the United States in 1950. USEFP is guided by a commission consisting of a comparable number of staffs between Pakistanis and Americans.

USEFP is one of 50 “Fulbright Comissions” located throughout the world. The USEFP has fostered an equivalent understanding between Pakistanis and the United States through educational and cultural exchanges since 1951, when the first group of Pakistanis traveled to America and in 1952 when the first Americans visited Pakistan. More than 5,000 Pakistanis and nearly 900 Americans have participated in exchange programs conducted by USEFP.

This foundation receives support and counseling from both the governments of Pakistan and the United States, but it is not an agency of any of them. USEFP leads a variety of programs that send Pakistani students and experts to American educational institutions, while bringing American scholars to campuses in Pakistan. The aim of all USEFP programs is to help Pakistanis learn more about the United States and at the same time help Americans gain more understanding of Pakistan and its people.

For Pakistanis, USEFP offers several specialist educational aid programs that will help accomplish their goals to study abroad, especially in US universities. One program that is worth considering is the Fulbright Degree Program.
