To study in Singapore, MOE provides ASEAN Scholarships for bright young students from ASEAN countries, China and India. Students will be given opportunities to develop their knowledge of the world while studying in Singapore, and to develop important skills such as leadership, communication, and other life skills to empower them for the 21st century. They can also help foster goodwill and awareness among young people from various countries and from Singapore.
Applications for the following ASEAN Scholarships are now open:
- Brunei
- Cambodia
- Indonesia
- Lao P.D.R.
- Malaysia
- Myanmar
All the successful candidates will receive several benefits for being eligible for the scholarships, including:
- Annual allowance with hostel accommodation
- Coverage of GCE O-Level and A-Level examination fees (once only, if applicable)
- Coverage of school fees
- Return economy class air passage
- Settling-in allowance
- Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance cover
ASEAN Scholarships for Brunei
ASEAN Scholarships for Brunei are admissible for Secondary 1, Secondary 3 or Pre-University 1 studies in selected Singapore Secondary Schools or Junior Colleges, resulting in the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Advanced Level Education Certificate (GCE A-Level) (or equivalent) certificate. The Scholarship is renewed yearly, subject to the scholar’s good performance.
If you meet the following criteria, apply now.
- Nationals of Negara Brunei Darussalam
- Performed consistently well in your school examinations
- Proficient in English
- Good record of participation in co-curricular activities
- Born between 2006 and 2008 and currently in Primary 6 or Form 1 (for ASEAN Secondary 1 Scholarship)
- Born between 2004 and 2006 and currently in Form 2 or 3 (for ASEAN Secondary 3 Scholarship)
- Born between 2002 and 2004
- Currently in Form 5 (or equivalent), or have taken the 2019 GCE O-Level examination (for ASEAN Pre-University Scholarship)

ASEAN Scholarships for Cambodia
The ASEAN Scholarships for Cambodia are sustainable in the long term for 4 years leading to the awarding of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Advanced Level Education (GCE A-Level) (or equivalent) certificate. The scholarship is for studies in selected Singapore schools from Secondary 3 to Pre-University 2 and is renewed annually, subject to the scholar’s satisfactory results. If you wanted to attend Singapore Schools at Secondary 3 level in 2021, you are encouraged to apply for the Scholarship.
If you meet the following criteria, apply now.
- Born between 2004 to 2006
- Completed at least Grade 10 of Senior High School / Upper Secondary
- Good record of participation in co-curricular activities
- Nationals of Cambodia
- Performed consistently well in school examinations
- Proficient in English
- Studied English as a subject in Grade 10

The Scholarship is for study from Secondary 3 to Pre-University 2 in selected Singapore schools and is renewed annually, subject to the scholar’s satisfactory performance. If you decide to pursue Singapore Schools at Secondary 3 level in 2021, you are welcome to apply for the Scholarship.

- Currently in SMP 3 or have taken the SMP 3 National Final Evaluation Examination (UN)
- Good record of participation in co-curricular activities
