This award is for U.S. students. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents and reside in the fifty United States or the District of Columbia. Applicants must be 14 years of age or older to apply.

2. PVAMU General Scholarship

Throughout the years, Prairie View A&M University has been recognized in well-respected publications as a top-notch, leading institution of higher education. The university promotes academic scholarship, supports student success, and encourages well-rounded professional development.

Prairie View A&M University offers a number of scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, transfer, and continuing students that show promise through academics, leadership, and/or community involvement. Several scholarships are made available to the student body per the generous donations of alumni and friends of the university.

Students who wish to be considered for the currently discussed scholarships must file a Prairie View A&M University admissions application and be accepted into the university.

Any student selected to receive a scholarship will be notified via their student e-mail account, pending all (if any) financial aid requirements have been satisfied prior to the notification date.

Who Should Apply

To be considered for the PVAMU General Scholarship, an incoming freshman or transfer student must:

  1. Be successfully admitted to the university
  2. Plan to enroll as a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming aid year in which scholarship funding is being applied
  3. Have a minimum cumulative high school/transfer GPA of 2.75 for undergraduate and a 3.0 for graduate students
  4. Plan to register as a full-time student for the Fall/Spring semesters in a minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduate and six (6) credit hours for graduate students

Returning students who are interested in giving the General Scholarship a shot are required to adhere to the following criteria. They must:

  1. Plan to enroll as a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming aid year in which scholarship funding is being applied
  2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and returning students are required to meet satisfactory academic progress standards to be considered for scholarship funding
  3. Plan to register as a full-time student for the Fall/Spring semesters in a minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduate and six (6) credit hours for graduate students

3. Berstelmann Scholarship

Bertelsmann’s media, services, and educational offerings make it a leader in many areas of the digital world. Accordingly, the company wants to empower as many people as possible to be successful in the digital world. Over a three-year period, Bertelsmann is funding as many as 50,000 tech scholarships for students to learn with Udacity.

The second phase of the program, starting in September 2020, consists of a two-stage scholarship that’s similar to the first phase of the program.

When applications close, the selection committee will review all entries and select 15,000 recipients to participate in the Cloud, Data, or AI Challenge Courses. Recipients will spend 3.5 months learning key components for Cloud Computing, Data Analysis, or Artificial Intelligence.

Top students from this initial phase will earn a full Nanodegree program scholarship.

Anyone 18 years of age and above is encouraged to apply. This includes any Bertelsmann employee or general student, who wants to expand their AI, Data, or Cloud skillset.

Please note that there are certain prerequisites for each track. Scholarship recipients should be prepared to invest about 3-5 hours per week during the Challenge Course and about 5-10 hours per week during the Nanodegree programs.

4. Beinecke Scholarship Program

The Beinecke Scholarship Program was established in 1971 by the Board of Directors of The Sperry and Hutchinson Company to honor Edwin, Frederick, and Walter Beinecke. The board created an endowment to provide substantial scholarships for the graduate education of young men and women of exceptional promise.

The program seeks to encourage and enable highly motivated students to pursue opportunities available to them and to be courageous in the selection of a graduate course of study in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

Since 1975 the program has selected 664 college juniors from more than 110 different undergraduate institutions for support during graduate study at any accredited university.

There are no geographic restrictions on the use of the scholarship, and recipients are allowed to supplement the award with other scholarships, assistantships, and research grants.

Scholars are encouraged to begin graduate study as soon as possible following graduation from college and must utilize all of the funding within five years of completion of undergraduate studies.

Who Should Apply

To be eligible for a Beinecke Scholarship, a student must:

  1. Have demonstrated superior standards of intellectual ability, scholastic achievement, and personal promise during his or her undergraduate career
  2. Be a college junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree during the 2020-21 academic year
  3. Plan to enter a research-focused master’s or doctoral program in the arts, humanities, or social sciences
  4. Be a United States citizen or the United States national from American Samoa or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands
  5. Have a documented history of receiving need-based financial aid during his or her undergraduate years
