9 All-inclusive Merit Scholarships in United States

In fact, students with excellent academic achievements may have more opportunities to receive scholarships that will reduce their financial burden to pay all college or university-related expenses. Awarding such scholarships will not be based on funding needs, but rather academic success indicated significantly by higher grades, ACT and/or SAT scores, extracurricular activities and even leadership skill. The scholarships are awarded to these students to honour their roles, both in academic environment and society, regardless of whether they come from a good income family or not. Yet however, some excellent students who happen to come from low income family would be apparently preferable.

It is also worthwhile mentioning that generally in USA, merit-based scholarships are offered by colleges or universities where students are enrolled in. Colleges or universities are much aware of their students’ academic achievements, so awarding various scholarships to these eligible students will generate spirit of other students to achieve the same academically. Yet however nowadays, such scholarships are provided not only by colleges/universities, but also companies, non-profitable foundations, and non-governmental organizations.

Interestingly in US, also perhaps in other countries, merit-based scholarships are offered by also considering gender, minority community, native community, states of residency, etc. Meaning that such a scholarship will put another requirement to applicants to be more eligible in receiving it. In this brief article, I am going to explore the scholarships a little further, so you will have more pictures in your minds on which scholarships that fit you much.
