AAPA Student Research Scholarship
AAPA Student Research Scholarship is given to organize and promote outstanding research by students in the field of apiculture. The scholarship will consist of a $1,000 stipend for research. Undergraduate or graduate students working in North America with Apis are eligible to apply. Nominees must be students of active AAPA members to be eligible for the scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship will be ineligible for future AAPA Student Research Scholarships.
Each research scholarship proposal must include a curriculum vitae (CV) of the nominee, one letter of recommendation, and a summary of the research problem not to exceed three pages double-spaced. The summary must include objectives, the significance of the problem, and the research method. Nominees may also include up to three publication reprints, submitted manuscripts or abstracts of theses or dissertations. The submissions should be electronically sent in PDF files.
You can submit your proposal electronically as PDF to ahworkerb@aol.com. Four copies of the proposal package should be sent to the Chair of the AAPA Student Award Committee at least one month before the annual meeting.

Marvin Mundel Memorial Scholarship
Marvin Mundel Memorial Scholarship is for college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who have a grade point average of 3.4 or higher and are members of the Institute of Industrial & System Engineers. The student must major in industrial engineering and may attend an institution in the U.S., its territories, Canada, or Mexico.
Priority consideration is given to, but limited, to students who have demonstrated an interest in work measurement and methods engineering. The nominee’s scholastic ability, character, leadership, potential service to the industrial engineering profession, and need for financial assistance are all considered.
Students that are nominated and selected as a finalist will be sent an application package to complete and return to IISE. Applications must be postmarked on or before February 1st. The deadline for this scholarship is November 15th.
University of Toronto Nortel Institute Undergraduate Scholarship
The Nortel Institute Undergraduate Scholarship, with an approximate value of $5,000, is awarded to undergraduate students in second or third year in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Arts and Science, University of Toronto Mississauga and University of Toronto Scarborough.
Candidates are considered based on financial need, academic merit (minimum CGPA of 3.0), and an essay. Applicants must submit an essay on the role and importance of Nanofabrication as well as its potential impact on society. Maximum 500 words, along with 2 references. In the essay the candidate must demonstrate active involvement in one of the following:
- Research, coursework, or work experience involving micro/nanofabrication
- A proposal for potential student summer research project or capstone project involving micro/nanofabrication

UPS Scholarship for Female Students
The scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled in any school in the United States and its territories, Canada, and Mexico, including:
- The school’s industrial engineering programs or equivalent is accredited by an agency or organization recognized by IISE, and
- The student is pursuing a course of study in industrial engineering.
Applicants must be nominated by IE department heads and mailed to the institute headquarters by the deadline fixed by the institute; after the review of nomination, eligible candidates will receive an application package that must be completed and sent back to IIE.

UPS Scholarship for Minority Students
The scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled in any school in the United States and its territories, Canada, and Mexico, including:
- The school’s industrial engineering programs or equivalent is accredited by an agency or organization recognized by IISE, and
- The student is pursuing a course of study in industrial engineering.
Selection shall be based on scholastic ability, character, leadership, potential service to the industrial engineering profession, and need for financial assistance. Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated an interest in management consulting.
One scholarship of $4,000 will be awarded for the current academic year to support the education of industrial engineering students for academic excellence and campus leadership. Abel Wolman Fellowship
This fellowship is named after Dr. Abel Wolman. The endowment was established to assist highly qualified students who continue meaningful research in water supply through doctoral programs.
This award of excellence recognizes those whose careers in the water sector exemplify the vision, creativity, and excellent professional performance characteristics of Abel Wolman’s long and productive career. The initial award for one year is $30,000, with the second year of support available if needed.

NACA Mid Atlantic Student Leaders Scholarship
One means by which the NACA Foundation demonstrates its commitment to the development of professionals in the field of campus activities is through providing scholarships to undergraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and made significant contributions to their campus community. The NACA Foundation offers NACA Mid Atlantic Student Leaders Scholarship that is available to students leaders on an annual basis. Established in 1985, it was created through donations to the “25 For 25 Drive”, a silver anniversary fund-raising project of the NACA Foundation.
The scholarship is to be used for educational expenses, including tuition, books, fees, or other related expenses.
Applicants must:
- Be matriculated undergraduate students in good standing at the time of application and during the semester in which the award is received
- Hold significant leadership positions on their campuses
- Have made significant contributions to their campus communities
- Have demonstrated leadership skills and ability
Please kindly note that NACA membership or involvement is not a criterion for selection. Scholarship nominations are solicited each year. However, awards will only be made when the specific scholarship fund is above the designated minimum established.

Norfolk Southern Foundation Scholarships
Engineering students enrolled in an undergraduate program at an institution located in Norfolk Southern’s service area are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and have an interest in railroad engineering.
Application requirements for the Norfolk Southern Foundation Scholarship are:

- Cover letter
The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000. The deadline for this scholarship is December 4th.
Saint Andrew Scholarships
This award aims to provide significant funding for two Scottish graduate students to study in the United States and two American students of Scottish heritage to study in Scotland. Applicants must be senior undergraduate students who will obtain a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and who can demonstrate the significance of studying in Scotland and must be a resident of the UK.
Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need, statement of personal objectives, Scottish descent, and proof of citizenship. A total of $30,000 will be awarded annually to the successful candidates. Applications must submit the application form and letters of reference from appropriate professors before December 15th.
