Mizzou Scholarship Categories
Basically, there are three main categories of Mizzou Scholarships:
1. Automatic Mizzou Scholarships
If you apply to the University of Missouri and are accepted, you will be evaluated for several scholarship opportunities. In fact, over 80% of University of Missouri students receive funding of some kind.
Anyone, whether a resident of Missouri or not, may apply for these scholarships. To see whether you qualify for a Mizzou Scholarship, you can go to the Mizzou Financial Aid website.
Awards listed below apply to U.S. citizens and permanent residents only:

- Excellence Award
- Missouri Land Grant

On the other hand, below are automatic awards that can be applied to the non-resident portion of tuition:

2. Competitive Mizzou Scholarships
Academic merit is the basis for some scholarships, while others are awarded based on participation in a particular course or degree program. These are merit-based scholarships, thus there may be extra requirements and varied submission dates. Scholarship competitions are open to both Missouri citizens and those from other states.
Students who enroll at Mizzou in their first semester after graduating from high school are eligible for the following financial aid packages. 3. General and Departmental Mizzou Scholarships
At the University of Missouri, not all scholarship applications are immediately processed. Log in to Scholarship Universe Mizzou and answer a series of matching questions to be considered for general and departmental scholarships from Mizzou. Next, finish your separate scholarship applications.
After submitting your application for admission, first-year and incoming freshmen may use the link on their Application Status Page to get access to Scholarship Universe Mizzou. If you want to be considered for merit-based scholarships, you need apply to Mizzou by November 15th.
More About the Mizzou Scholarships
Unless otherwise specified, Mizzou Scholarships are not transferable across campuses within the University of Missouri System. The University of Missouri awards academic scholarships twice a year, in the Fall and the Spring.
You will forfeit your Mizzou Scholarship if you are expelled from the university. However, you may become eligible again in the future if you meet the renewal requirements at the end of the academic year. Nonetheless, you will not be able to get a scholarship for more than eight semesters total.

Scholarship Universe Mizzou is a portal via which students at the University of Missouri may find and accept available scholarships. Applying for scholarships is as easy as following these steps:
1. Log In
Enter your MU allocated login and the password you created to access Scholarship Universe Mizzou. Go to password.umsystem.edu to create or modify a password. Scholarship Universe Mizzou login can be done by visiting missouri.scholarshipuniverse.com.
2. View Your Dashboard
Your dashboard summarizes the funding options available to you at the moment and in the future and highlights any tasks that need your immediate attention. To access the various parts of the application and selection procedure, utilize the user menu on the left.
3. Answer Matching Questions
From the user menu on the left, choose “Questions.” In order to apply for as many available campus-wide scholarships as possible, you will need to answer questions that will help you be matched with those for which you really qualify.

Clicking the “Apply” button next to a scholarship on your Matches list will take you straight to that scholarship’s application, or you can continue to the next step to get a comprehensive list of all the scholarship applications you are qualified to complete.
5. Apply for Scholarships
In order to submit an application for a scholarship, go to “Applications” in the user menu on the left. You may use a single application to submit many scholarship applications at once. Under each scholarship application, you can see how many you have applied for and, by clicking the arrow, each scholarship’s name.
In this case, you will only be able to apply for scholarships that you have been matched to using your Matching Questions. Once an application has been sent in, it cannot be changed. Before hitting the “Submit” button, double check your application materials and ask any questions you may have.
