Thanks to AAA, they are able to build a solid academic base for their child’s future. In fact, the AAA Scholarship Foundation team has invested more than 18 years devoted to passionately advocating for the under-served, under-represented and academically disadvantaged members of the communities.
In this post, we have compiled information about AAA Scholarships and how you can apply to them. Also, we’ve divided this blog into sections, so you can go directly to the section that contains information about these scholarships in your state. At the end of this guide, you can learn about how to apply to the AAA Scholarships the right way. Without further ado, let’s get started.
AAA Scholarship Foundation
AAA Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2010 to provide scholarships for low and middle-income families in Georgia with stricter accountability criteria than needed by law. Since 2011, AAA has expanded its service area to include Arizona through scholarships funded by the state’s corporate tax credit program. More families were served by the AAA’s high level of accountability and service as expansion continued in both Alabama and Pennsylvania.
AAA has continued to expand to provide the best possible service and responsibility to the families of Florida. The AAA Scholarship Foundation’s educational philosophy is exemplified in Florida by the fact that a family’s zip code has no bearing on the quality of their child’s education. As of 2015, AAA was the first scholarship organization in Nevada to administer scholarships to low-income families.
To this day, AAA Scholarship Foundation has spent more than 18 years working tirelessly to help the under-served, under-represented, and academically disadvantaged in our communities. It currently focuses on providing opportunities for students in Florida, Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia to pursue their college education.
There are four types of AAA Scholarships:
- Income-Based Scholarships
- Disabled-Displaced Scholarships
- Family Empowerment Scholarships for Students with Disabilities
- Foster/Out-of Home Care Scholarships
AAA Scholarship Florida
In Florida, AAA Scholarship Florida has state-approved scholarships to help Florida residents pay for tuition, books, and fees at private K-12 schools for eligible students or help pay for homeschooling students with eligible disabilities.
The foundation administers two state-approved Florida income-based scholarship programs: The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) and the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO).
The same application is used to apply for both AAA scholarships. If you are found eligible for both scholarships, AAA will grant you an FTC Scholarship.
AAA Scholarship Arizona
AAA Scholarship Arizona offer state-authorized scholarships of up to $7,700 for grades 9-12 and $5,800 for grades K-8 to help pay for tuition at eligible private schools. These scholarships are currently available for the Income-Based Scholarship category only. Unfortunately, due to lack of funding, AAA will not be offering Arizona Disability-Based Scholarships to new students.
To be eligible for a new scholarship, you must be:
- Entering kindergarten, public school attendance is not required, or
- Transferring from another Scholarship Tuition Organization (STO), or
- Entering 1st-12th grade and have attended 90 days at an Arizona public school by law, or
- A dependent of a military household stationed in Arizona, and
- Between 5-22 years old on September 1 by law.
AAA Scholarship Nevada
AAA Scholarship Nevada offers state-authorized scholarships of up to $7,500 for grades K-12 to help pay for tuition and fees at eligible private schools.
Unfortunately, due to a limit on the amount of funding the state will allow AAA to raise for this scholarship, the foundation is only accepting applications from renewing students. If that changes, we will post updates here. Please check back often for updates.
AAA Scholarship Georgia
AAA Scholarship Georgia offers state-authorized scholarships of up to $7,500 annually to help pay for tuition, books, and fees at eligible private schools.
Unfortunately, due to limited funding, AAA Scholarship Foundation may not be able to accept any applications for new and transferring students. However, when changes are made, we will make sure to post an update. Hence, check back here often for updates.
AAA Scholarship(s) Application Procedures
Before You Apply
AAA scholarships have a number of requirements that you must meet before applying. To demonstrate your eligibility, your family must submit the AAA Foundation Scholarship application and supporting paperwork before the deadline. In addition, you must satisfy the standards of the state and AAA.
After You Apply
Next, you will have to wait 10-12 weeks after submitting your application for the AAA Scholarship based on your current residence state. If additional paperwork or information is required to make a judgment, the AAA Scholarship Foundation will contact you through email.
Keep an eye on your application’s status and your inbox for important emails. Please check your inbox for an email from the AAA Scholarship Foundation. Make sure to respond as quickly as possible, ideally within the timeframe specified in the email.
Once a Decision is Made
You will be notified by first-class mail of the foundation’s decision in 4-6 weeks when all needed documentation, the application fee (if applicable), and processing is complete. A scholarship award letter, a school commitment form (SCF), and a copy of all payment forms and instructions will be sent to you through email or regular mail. If you are found to be ineligible for the AAA Scholarships, you will get a denial notice in the mail.
When a scholarship is used, it cannot be deferred. Consequentially, failure to satisfy the deadline mentioned on the SCF will result in forfeiture of the awarded AAA Scholarships. Prior to handing the blank form over to an approved private school, you should print out a copy of it in the event that you change schools later in the year.
Four times a year, AAA will submit a report to your school verifying your enrollment status and any financial obligations you may have to the institution. To receive one-quarter of your scholarship award, you must send the verification report by the deadline set by AAA. The check is made payable to your parent/guardian, but only for deposit by the school.
