Types of Scholarships and Eligibility

The IsDB Scholarship Programme for 2023-2024 offers opportunities at various academic levels, including:

Undergraduate

    • Eligibility:
      • Citizens of IsDB member countries or Muslim communities in non-member countries.
      • Medically fit and willing to undergo medical tests after selection.
      • High school graduates with minimum good grades or currently enrolled in the first year at recognized public or government universities or schools
    • Fields of Study: Various disciplines, including ICT for development, education, agriculture, and more.

Master’s

    • Eligibility:
      • Citizens of IsDB member countries or Muslim communities in non-member countries.
      • Medically fit and willing to undergo medical tests after selection.
      • Not in receipt of any other scholarship.
      • Graduates with a grade above “Good” in their bachelor’s studies.
    • Fields of Study: Focus on “Sustainability Science,” including Islamic Banking and Finance, ICT for Development, Energy, Health, and more.

PhD and Research Doctoral

    • Eligibility:
      • Citizens of IsDB member countries or Muslim communities in non-member countries.
      • Medically fit and willing to undergo medical tests after selection.
      • Preferably have work and/or research experience.
      • Have a research proposal in one of the program’s fields of study with scientific and development relevance.
    • Fields of Study: Research in development-related fields, with a focus on “Sustainability Science.”

Vocational Education & Training (VET)

    • Eligibility:
      • Completed high school with a minimum of good grades in major subjects.
      • Not in receipt of any other scholarship.
      • Citizens of IsDB member countries or Muslim communities in non-member countries.
      • Medically fit and willing to undergo medical tests after selection.

Bachelor

    • Eligibility:
      • Citizens of the 21 IsDB Least Developed Member Countries (LDMCs).
      • Completed high school with a minimum of good grades in major subjects.
      • Not in receipt of any other scholarship.
      • Medically fit and willing to undergo medical tests after selection.

Scholarship Benefits

IsDB scholarship recipients can expect the following benefits:

  • University tuition fees (subject to IsDB’s approval)

  • Economy class return air tickets (at the beginning and end of the study).
