This Surgical Technologist Program by the Renton Technical College (RTC) trains students to work as a scrub person, and secondarily as a circulator in a surgery setting. Students also study endoscopy, labor and delivery, and sterile processing. Students must complete a total of 120 surgical cases acting in various roles before being allowed to take the certification test. 5. The Northeast Iowa Community College Surgical Technology Program

The Surgical Technology program is offered at Northeast Iowa Community College through a distance education agreement with Kirkwood Community College (KCC), Cedar Rapids, IA. Currently, students take the Kirkwood Surgical Technology courses over Zoom at NICC and the general education requirements through NICC.
