These opportunities include World Bank Internships programs which are available with a variety of benefits for each applicant. Donor Funded Staffing Program (DFSP)
The DSFP is structured for junior and mid-career professionals to gain interesting insights, access, and experience from the inner perspective of the World Bank.
The Donor Funded Staffing Program (DFSP) of the World Bank Group is sponsored by the donor governments. The DFSP’s purpose is to contribute to the diversity objectives and capacity building activities of the World Bank through the recruitment of junior and mid-career professionals at headquarters and country offices.
In order to be qualified for participating in this program, all applicants should comply with the following requirements.
For Junior Professional Officers (JPO):
- Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in another World Bank language is desirable. This includes Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
- Grade Level: UC (ungraded)
- Master’s degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
For Mid-career Professionals:
- Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in another World Bank language is desirable. This includes Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
- Grade: GF Level and above.
- Master’s degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience (depending on grade level).

Global Secondment Program (GSP)
The GSP offers an opportunity for officials from a member country, regional agency, development bank, international organization, academia, or private sector to be named to the World Bank Group (WBG) on a Special Assignment.
The system is intended to contribute to the Bank’s work for a limited duration (not to exceed four years) for capacity development, knowledge sharing, strategic partnerships, cultural exchange, and diversification. The GSP is frequently used as a pre-recruitment step particularly for concerned nationalities.
As this is a full-time appointment, the applicant will at the time of appointment be a full-time employee of the releasing company and continue to receive their salary and benefits from that firm or organization. Interns will not be accepted.
To verify jobs, education, credit and criminal background, all appointments will be subject to a security clearance. Participants cannot start the assignment until the clearance has been completed. If the applicant fails to meet the security clearance requirement of the WBG, the appointment will be terminated.

Recruitment Drive for Fragility, Conflict and Violence Initiative
The World Bank Group invites applications from eligible candidates involved in international development as part of the World Bank Group’s effort to increase funding in countries struggling with fragility, conflict, and violence (FCV). The majority of positions will be located in:
- East Asia
- Middle East and North Africa
- South Asia
- Sub-Saharan Africa

Recruitment Drive for MNA Fellows Program
The program aims to increase the representation of Middle East and Africa (MNA) nationals in the World Bank Group, increase the number of MNA nationals selected into the WBG Young Professionals Program and create young talent skills in technical areas of critical importance for MNA region growth.
Monitoring and development of leadership will be core aspects of the program.
To be eligible for the program the candidates must:
- Be committed to International Development
- Be fluent in English
- Be nationals of Saudi Arabia
- Have a Master’s degree, with ideally 2 years of relevant work experience

Saudi Recruitment Program (KSARP)
The Saudi Recruitment Program (KSARP) represents an enriching career opportunity for Saudi junior and mid-career professionals to join the World Bank Group for one- to two-year assignments. The program, which is partially sponsored by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Finance and the World Bank Group, helps participants to gain valuable insights, access and experience from the internal perspective of the World Bank Group.
You will learn new skills as a participant in the program and improve existing ones, share your experience and gain new perspectives. You can also discover directly how it can be a very satisfying job to work on the WBG’s poverty alleviation project.
In order to be qualified for participating in this program, all applicants must meet the following criteria.
- National of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Work experience relevant to the work of the World Bank Group including economics, finance, environment, health, education, urban planning, information technology, and human resources
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of development issues is an advantage
- Fluency in English and Arabic

WBG Analyst Program
The World Bank Group Analyst Program is a wonderful opportunity for outstandingly talented young people with a passion for international development to help solve some of the most important problems in the world.

World Bank Internships
The World Bank Internships Program provides highly competent individuals an opportunity to become connected to the WB’s international development agenda and work. This internship allows individuals to bring new experiences, fresh ideas and the latest research insight into the work of the WB and develop their skills when operating in a dynamic community.
The World Bank Internships reflect an opportunity to learn while acquiring practical experience.
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD with plans to return to school full time) to be eligible for World Bank Internships. Application for this program is without age limit. Fluency in English required. Fluency in another World Bank language is desirable. This includes Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Other skills such as computing skills are advantageous.

Young Professionals Program
The Young Professional Program (YPP) of the World Bank Group is a unique opportunity for young professionals with both a passion for international development / finance and the potential for leadership to grow into managerial roles across the World Bank Group.
The program is designed for highly committed and skilled individuals possessing a graduate degree and being specialized in areas related to the growth operations of the public and private sector. These areas include:

- Graduate degree in one of these categories: MA, MBA (or equivalent), MS or PhD
- Relevant professional experience or continued study at the doctoral level
- Specialization in a field relevant to World Bank, IFC or MIGA operations
