Formerly called the New American Scholars Fund, Immigrants Rising Scholarships provide financial awards to low-income immigrants. Every year, Immigrants Rising launches scholarships for underprivileged students. To apply to these scholarships, you do not need proof of residency or legal permanent residency.

1. Villarreal Law Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Closing Date: August 1, 2022

As the name implies, the Villarreal Law Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing a career in the legal industry. It is open to high school seniors planning to attend college or current college students or first-year law school students in the United States.

Priority will be given to students with an interest in a legal career, particularly in litigation. No GPA required.

2. Adley Law Firm College Student Scholarship

Award: $500

Closing Date: August 15, 2022

Another good source of finance for prospective law students is the Adley Law Firm College Student Scholarship. It is open to high school seniors who are interested in applying to the law department at a U.S. college or university. However, applicants under the age of 18 need parental consent.

To apply, you must be currently an undergraduate or graduate student and pursuing a degree in one of the STEM fields.

6. Environmental Awareness Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Closing Date: September 1, 2022

This bi-annual scholarship is open to high school and college students across the country. Interested students must submit an essay on a given topic related to climate change to apply. However, applicants under the age of 18 must include the signature of a parent or legal guardian.

7. American Board of Funeral Service Education Scholarship

Award: $2,500

This scholarship provides financial awards to students enrolled in funeral service or mortuary science programs to assist them in obtaining professional education.

To apply, students must have completed at least one quarter of study in a funeral service or mortuary science education program accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE). It is open to college, university, and community college students on an F-1 visa.

These Immigrants Rising Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. The award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a postsecondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking engineering courses to be eligible.

The award is open to master’s level student who is currently enrolled in a health education program at an accredited college or university in the U.S. To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must be pursuing a career as a professional health education specialist.

17. Alma Exley Scholarship

Award: $6,000
