Formerly called the New American Scholars Fund, Immigrants Rising Scholarships provide financial awards to low-income immigrants. Every year, Immigrants Rising launches scholarships for underprivileged students. To apply to these scholarships, you do not need proof of residency or legal permanent residency.

Immigrants Rising Scholarships
1. Villarreal Law Scholarship
Award: $1,000
Closing Date: August 1, 2022
As the name implies, the Villarreal Law Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing a career in the legal industry. It is open to high school seniors planning to attend college or current college students or first-year law school students in the United States.
Priority will be given to students with an interest in a legal career, particularly in litigation. No GPA required.
2. Adley Law Firm College Student Scholarship
Award: $500
Closing Date: August 15, 2022
Another good source of finance for prospective law students is the Adley Law Firm College Student Scholarship. It is open to high school seniors who are interested in applying to the law department at a U.S. college or university. However, applicants under the age of 18 need parental consent.
3. Future Educator Scholarship

Have you always dreamed of changing the lives of many people for the better through teaching? In that case, this scholarship is for you.
As its name indicates, the Future Educator Scholarship is launched to support the endeavors of current or future college students who are majoring in education. It is available for any immigration status.
4. The Achieve Today Scholarship Fund
Award: $1,000
Closing Date: August 31, 2022
Achieve Today is providing a wonderful scholarship to students from across the U.S. For this scholarship, you need to submit a three- to five-minute audio, video, or essay on a topic of personal development or high performance.
These Immigrants Rising Scholarships are not limited to any particular level of education, meaning all current undergraduate and postgraduate students are welcome to apply.
5. SBB Research Group STEM Scholarship
Award: $2,500
Closing Date: August 31, 2022
Whether you aspire to become a software engineer, a nurse, a researcher, or a data scientist, you can make the most of this opportunity. This scholarship is launched to support STEM students. To apply, you must be currently an undergraduate or graduate student and pursuing a degree in one of the STEM fields.
6. Environmental Awareness Scholarship
Award: $1,000
Closing Date: September 1, 2022
This bi-annual scholarship is open to high school and college students across the country. Interested students must submit an essay on a given topic related to climate change to apply. However, applicants under the age of 18 must include the signature of a parent or legal guardian.
7. American Board of Funeral Service Education Scholarship
Award: $2,500
Closing Date: September 1, 2022
This scholarship provides financial awards to students enrolled in funeral service or mortuary science programs to assist them in obtaining professional education.
To apply, students must have completed at least one quarter of study in a funeral service or mortuary science education program accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE). It is open to college, university, and community college students on an F-1 visa.
8. Supporting Local Businesses Scholarship
Award: $1,000
Closing Date: September 5, 2022
This scholarship is created to highlight the importance of local businesses to communities in the future. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university. Students attending online universities are also welcome to apply.
9. Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarship
Award: $1,000
Closing Date: September 15, 2022
Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarship is open to students accepted to a college and are/will be enrolled as a graduate freshman. It is specifically reserved for students majoring in ophthalmology or optometry. To apply, you must submit an essay on how to plan to use your education to serve the community.
10. CNCMachines.com Manufacturing Scholarship
Award: $2,500
Closing Date: September 23, 2022
This scholarship is a yearly scholarship awarded to exceptional students working towards a degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or related fields. Applicable degrees include certifications, certificates, associates, bachelors, or masters.
11. QuestBridge National College Match Program
Award: Up to $200,000
Closing Date: September 28, 2022
QuestBridge National College Match Program is a college admission and scholarship process through which high-achieving, low-income students can be admitted early with full four-year scholarships to QuestBridge college partners. It invites all high school seniors with any immigration status to apply.
12. Too Cool to Pay for School Scholarship
Award: $1,000
Closing Date: September 30, 2022
This scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors, college students, and graduate school students of all years. Non-traditional students are also welcome to apply for this opportunity.
13. Save a Life Scholarship for Students of Healthcare and Education
Award: $1,500
Closing Date: October 1, 2022
The American Academy of CPR and First Aid is proud to sponsor the Save a Life Scholarship, offered exclusively to students majoring in the healthcare and education fields.
Any student currently enrolled in, or applying to enroll within the next academic year, in a degree program in the fields of healthcare or education, at an accredited U.S. university, is eligible to apply.
14. Cal Alumni Association Pride Scholarship
Award: $3,500
Closing Date: October 3, 2022
The Cal Pride Scholarship is a one-year, merit-based award that recognizes continuing students and incoming transfer students of the UC Berkeley campus. It is intended for students’ academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement, as well as their contribution to the LGBTQ community.
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit two essays on certain topics.
15. AES Engineering Scholarship
Award: $500
Closing Date: October 8, 2022
These Immigrants Rising Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. The award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a postsecondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking engineering courses to be eligible.
16. Barbara A. Cooley Master’s Scholarship
Award: $1,000
Closing Date: October 15, 2022
The award is open to master’s level student who is currently enrolled in a health education program at an accredited college or university in the U.S. To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must be pursuing a career as a professional health education specialist.
17. Alma Exley Scholarship
Award: $6,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2022
The Alma Exley Scholarship is dedicated to promoting greater diversity in the teaching profession. It honors and supports outstanding students who are preparing for careers as public school teachers. Applicants may be in their junior or senior year or pursuing a master’s degree.
18. Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award
Award: $16,000
Closing Date: November 15, 2022
Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award is a unique education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. To apply, applicants must be enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational or skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
19. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship
Award: $55,000
Closing Date: November 17, 2022
This program is an undergraduate scholarship available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities.
To be eligible to apply to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship, you must graduate from a U.S. high school and intend to enroll full time in an accredited four-year college.
20. Bachus and Schanker, LLC Scholarship
Award: $2,000
Closing Date: November 30, 2022
Understanding the importance of a quality education, Bachus & Schanker, LLC created a scholarship meant to enable students to better focus on their intellectual development and career goals. Each student must write an essay about their opinions on the importance and efficacy of the 7th Amendment.
