15 Military Spouse Scholarships and Grants for Deserving Students

Military spouse scholarships are one way of giving back to the families of members of the military service. It is also a move to provide much needed financial assistance to the children and spouses of men and women who are on duty as they pursue an education at higher institutions.

The following is a list of the 15 military spouse scholarships that you can apply for.

1. Pat Tillman Military Scholars Program

The Pat Tillman Foundation unites and empowers remarkable military veterans. U.S. veteran or active military service members, or the spouses of veteran, active or deceased U.S. military service members are eligible to apply for this award. Students must enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program and demonstrate financial need.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $23,000. The closing date is February 28th, 2021.

2. NMCCG Enlisted Dependent Spouse Scholarship

This award is for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students. The student must be the spouse of an enlisted member of the Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard and must be accepted to an accredited post-secondary institution prior to the scholarship deadline.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $750. The closing date is March 31st, 2021.

3. Massachusetts Public Service Grant

The Massachusetts Public Service Grant was established for students who have experienced the loss of a parent and/or spouse who is killed or missing in the line of public service duty in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

This award is available to Massachusetts undergraduate students who are planning to enroll full-time at a Massachusetts college or university. Students must have a parent and or spouse who is killed or missing in the line of public service duty in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $1,500. The closing date is May 1st, 2021.

4. EducationConnection Military Scholarship

This scholarship is available for U.S. undergraduate students (ages 18 and older) who are on military active duty, honorably discharged, veterans, or spouses from any branch of the military.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $1,000. The closing date is September 30th, 2021.

5. Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is open to surviving spouses and children of fallen active-duty or veteran members of the United States Armed Forces.

The student must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university in the upcoming semester to pursue a trade or professional certificate, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, graduate, post-graduate or doctoral degree; the student must also demonstrate financial need.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $12,500. The closing date is March 31st, 2021.

6. Spouse Education Assistance Program

This scholarship is open to spouses of active duty or retired Army soldiers and widow(er)s of soldiers who died on active duty or in retired status to pursue their first undergraduate degree. Students must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher; scholarships are based on financial need.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $2,200. The closing date is April 1st, 2021.

7. George Sink, P.A Injury Lawyers Veterans & Military Family Scholarship

The George Sink, P.A Injury Lawyers Veterans & Military Family Scholarship is available for U.S. veterans who are currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited undergraduate or graduate program. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $1,000. The closing date is June 15th, 2021.

8. Ankin Law Office 2020 Scholarship for Military Veterans

This scholarship is open to military veterans of the United States Armed Forces and immediate family members (parents, children) who will be enrolled full-time in fall 2020 in a community college or university, earning credits toward a degree (associate, baccalaureate, or graduate). Trade or vocational programs will also qualify.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $1,000. The closing date is July 15th, 2021.

9. Military Spouse and Caregiver Scholarship Program

The Spouse/Caregiver Scholarship Program identifies, recognizes, and rewards post-9/11 spouses/caregivers for their strength, fidelity, and resolve despite adversity. Scholarships aid in continued education at a reputable, accredited university, college, or trade school. They are for spouses/caregivers.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $50,000. The closing date is September 30th, 2021.

10. Lowe’s + AMVETS Generation T Scholarship

Through a corporate grant from Lowe’s Companies, Inc, AMVETS ( American Veterans) offers the Generation T Scholarships. These are available to eligible Veterans and spouses who would like to enter into or advance their careers in the skilled trades industry. These scholarships provide up to $5,000 each.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $50,000. The closing date is October 2nd, 2021.

11. Joseph A. McAlinden Divers Scholarship Program

The U.S. Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society sponsors the Joseph A. McAlinden Divers Scholarship Program. It provides education scholarships of $500 to $3000 per year to pay for tuition, books, fees, room, and board. To be eligible you must be active duty, retired, or a child or a spouse of someone who is.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $2,500.

12. Mimi Mayes Military Spouse Scholarship

Columbia Southern University is an online university in Orange Beach, Alabama. Columbia Southern University recognizes the sacrifices made by the family members of America’s military men and women. To honor family members, CSU will provide one scholarship to the spouse of an Active-duty member.

The award is available to both future and current CSU students, the scholarship will cover up to $25,200 in one online degree program. The scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s tuition for up to 36 consecutive months or until the completion of the selected online degree program, whichever comes first.

The closing date is September 1st, 2021.

13. Georgia HERO Scholarship Category A

This award is available to U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are residents of Georgia residents and are attending an eligible postsecondary institution in Georgia. The student must be an active member of the Georgia National Guard or U.S. Military Reserves who were deployed to an active combat zone outside the United States.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $8,000.

14. The Military Family Scholarship

The Military Family Scholarship is available to high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students who come from a military home, are currently serving, or who are military Veterans. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must submit an original essay about how the military has shaped and impacted their lives.

The winner will receive a scholarship worth of $5,000. The closing date is December 31st, 2020.

15. Columbia College of Missouri Coast Guard Spouse Grant

This grant is awarded to fully admitted, degree-seeking students at Columbia College of Missouri. Applicants must be pursuing Associate’s degrees (except Associate of General Studies). Applicants must also be the spouse of an active duty Coast Guard member.

Five winners will receive each a scholarship worth of $16,000. The closing date is March 1st, 2021.
