9 Emerging Scholarships for Female Students in STEM Fields

Scholarships for Female Students

In fact, everyone shall admit that for the time being, the planet is facing rapid growth in science and technology. Nowadays, the quality of a state will be measured significantly by how it can absorb and implement effectively the two fields into its development and progress. The USA, as the pioneering country of such growth has been well aware that education is one of the key factors to achieve its desired goal towards an honoured nation.

For this reason, encouraging as many US students as possible to pursue the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in colleges or universities is something crucial for US stakeholders in the education field since today’s workforce consists of STEM Professionals has become less. Such a fact eventually would trigger plenty of students to pursue their degree in STEM fields in order to meet the career demand. Of course, STEM students may get focus on new progress in cutting-edge technologies, the creation of solutions on a daily basis, the sharing of new innovations and novel creativity, etc.

In this regard, female students, despite more hurdles and obstacles in their personal life,  could be tremendously persuaded to pursue their education in a higher degree with various scholarships offered to them. As has been explicated in the previous article, scholarships are granted due to different reasons, some are awarded by considering nationality, race, or even gender. Luckily in the US, there are so many foundations, and nonprofit organizations, including the federal and state government, that seem interested in awarding plenty of scholarships to female students who have a strong plan to take STEM fields for the next degree.  These organizations do believe that women in the US shall be given equal opportunity and treatment in educational matters mainly in STEM fields, so in the future, women will play a prominent role in these fields. Moreover, despite women in the US represent almost half of the whole workforce, unfortunately, they just make up less than 15% of engineering professionals. In fact, this is almost the same case with Science, Technology, and Mathematics, in which women still have no stronger contribution in the fields. Therefore, by awarding scholarships to only female students, women will be hopefully the next pioneers for scientific progress and development, not only in the US but also in the world.
