Available for Bachelor’s degree students in any field from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.0. English proficiency for non-native speakers should be equivalent to IELTS score of 5.5 and above. Students will be appointed for interview upon initial screening application. There is no separate test, nor additional form for the scholarship. Therefore, all students are automatically eligible to apply for the Prestigious PIM Excellence Scholarship. The scholarships are divided into two types:
    • 50% Scholarship on Credit Fee: The tuition fee for students with 50% scholarships on credit fee would be paid in four installments, each amounting at 78,375 THB (total amount payable: 313,500 THB).
    • 30% Scholarship on Credit Fee: The tuition fee for students with 30% scholarships on credit fee would be paid in four installments, each amounting at 92,025 THB (total amount payable: 368,100 THB).

The scholarship does not include the following:

    • Living expenses (accommodation, food, transportation) – estimated at 12,000 THB or 400 USD per month
    • Health insurance – estimated at 7,000 THB or 235 USD per year

      • Full tuition and educational support fees (full thesis support)
      • Living allowance of 10,000 Baht per month

The objective is to enhance cross-cultural research in order to build a body of knowledge for understanding and uniting people in the ASEAN region. Another goal is to develop international Thai-ASEAN academic networks, especially among young scholars and experts, in order to share, learn and develop research for the dynamic Thai and ASEAN community. The scholarship amounts at 100,000 Baht, and is available to scholars, researchers and graduate students, both Thai and non-Thai. Recipients are required to submit an original unpublished research paper related to a comparative study of ASEAN studies with Thai-Tai Studies and give an oral presentation in Thailand. The Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University reserves the right to publish or disseminate the research papers.
  2. Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI) Scholarships: 20 bond-free scholarships for outstanding students who pass a scholarship placement exam and an interview process. The types of TNI Scholarships are as the following:
    • Type one: 100% discount on tuition fees
    • Type two: 50% discount on tuition fees
    • Type three: 25% discount on tuition fees

These are bond-free scholarships in which recipients must adhere to the terms and conditions as well as to maintain their academic performance set by TNI below:

    • Type one: Average annual GPAX must not be lower than 3.25
    • Type two: Average annual GPAX must not be lower than 3.00
    • Type three: Average annual GPAX must not be lower than 2.75

If the recipient’s academic standing falls below the minimum required annual GPAX, the scholarship will be downgraded to the lower scholarship type during the next semester until the recipient can meet the required annual GPAX for that scholarship level. Upgrading from an original to a higher scholarship type is not permitted.

  1. Mahidol University Scholarship for International Students: Awarded to outstanding students with good behavior. Students should have a good academic standing and have never broken the Code of Student Conduct to receive the scholarship.
    • Foreign Language Ambassador Scholarship: Available to students who register for a minor language program and hold a cumulative GPA above 3.00. The scholarship amounts at 900,000 Baht per year.
    • Scholarships for students with disabilities: Available to students with disabilities, who apply prior to the admission process.
    • MUIC Financial Aid: Available to students who participate in MUIC activities and are registered for at least one year. Students must hold a cumulative GPA above 2.50 and must register for at least 12 credits in that trimester. The scholarship maximum amount is 50,000 Baht per scholarship, depending on the student’s financial problems. The budget of the scholarship is 750,000 Baht per year. Scholarships given will be used as a tuition fee waiver for the next trimester.
    • MUIC Student Activities Scholarships: Offered to students who participate in students activities at Mahidol University.
      • For MUICSA Committees by waiving tuition fees.
        • 24,000 Baht per year for President

The number of scholarships offered depends on the MUICSA Committee in each year. Recipients must be selected as a member of the Student Association Committees, strictly follow the University Code of Conduct (especially the Student Association Regulations) and meet requirements of the Student Association Regulations.

      • For students selected as Mahidol University Outstanding Sportsperson: 24,000 Baht per scholarship by waiving tuition fees. The number of scholarships offered depends on the official announcement from Mahidol University.
      • For students who won a medal for participating in the Thailand University Games:

        • 8 credits waiver for silver medal

      • For Non-ASEAN: 10 scholarships, each amounts at 40,000 Baht, offered annually to outbound MUIC students for academic and research activities. The credits from abroad can be transferred.
    • MUIC Young Ambassadors Scholarship: Actual cost of air ticket (round trip ticket), registration fee and per diem per scholarship, offered to students who are officially nominated by MUIC or MU to participate in an event. Events / activities can take place abroad or in Thailand.
    • Certificates for MUIC Academic Excellence
      • For academic excellence in each major: A maximum of 2 certificates for each major. Offered to two students with the highest cumulative GPA in each major, with at least 3.25. Credits must exceed 61.
      • For General Education courses: A maximum of 2 certificates for General Education courses. Offered to two students with the highest cumulative GPA in General Education courses, with at least 3.25. Credits must be between 40-60.
