However, PVAMU only favors those who are able to demonstrate financial need, and are committed to their studies.
Below, you can learn how to apply for the PVAMU General Scholarship and win a highly valued scholarship throughout the Lone Star State. The guide covers everything you need to know about the program, from its eligibility requirements to the application procedures. Without further ado, let’s just dive right into it.
About the PVAMU General Scholarship
The PVAMU General Scholarship is a non-renewable, one-time scholarship. It is a financial aid by Prairie View A&M University, a member of the Texas A&M University System. The scholarship is open to every admitted student, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Besides, it is a non-transferable scholarship. In other words, PVAMU General Scholarship recipients cannot transfer their scholarships when they decide to leave Prairie View A&MU University to attend another college or university. As a result, students must apply for scholarships at the college or university they plan to enroll in.
The scholarship is applicable to all kinds of programs and disciplines students are interested in entering. Furthermore, the award is not limited to any level of education. Thus, PVAMU strongly encourages incoming, transfer, and returning students to apply to this rewarding program.
As for now, PVAMU offers bachelor’s degrees in 50 academic majors, 37 master’s degrees, and 4 doctoral degree programs through nine colleges and schools. For starters, they range from engineering, business, nursing, to the natural sciences.
Program Values
The PVAMU General Scholarship awards between $500 and $3,000 for each selected student. Scholarship recipients can use their scholarships to cover tuition fees. Unfortunately, the amount available varies, depending on the details of the criteria and the availability of funding.
Furthermore, it is fair to mention that the amount of an award does not exceed the cost of attendance of a student. Hence, the university encourages students to apply for as many external and departmental scholarships as possible to assist with educational expenses.
